The Forsan Journalism and Yearbook students held a Veteran’s Day fundraiser in support of the local D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans) Chapter 47. During the recent monthly meeting, students from the class presented the Chapter with the $1,035 that was raised.
“We offered the opportunity to donate a dollar and submit either a ‘Thank You’ or a name of a veteran,” Emma Fernandez, Forsan Yearbook student, said.
This is the first year for the Veterans Day Fundraiser. Each of the names that were submitted were displayed at the Junior High and High School, for the students, staff and parents to see. In addition to the names, Thank You messages also lined the hallways and the doors of the auditorium.
A field of flags was also displayed in front of the Junior High/High School main entrance the week leading up to Veterans Day.
