Forsan ISD is proud to announce the appointment of Cory Richardson as the new junior high and high school principal of Forsan JH/HS. 

Richardson brings more than 30 years of teaching and coaching experience to his new role. 

“After careful consideration, it became clear that Coach Richardson is the right person to lead Forsan Junior High and High School. His strong connection to our community and dedication to students and staff make him an ideal fit for the vision and direction of Forsan ISD. We are proud to welcome him into this leadership role and are excited about the future under his guidance,” Michael Valencia, Forsan ISD Superintendent, said.  

Richardson has been part of the Buffalo herd since 2010 where he has served as Head Boys Basketball Coach, leading the team to earn the 2018 Regional Semifinals title and District Champion Title in 2017, 2018 and 2019; Head Tennis Coach where he led teams to earn the State Qualifier title in 2012 and 2013, as well as several state qualifiers in 2011, 2012 and 2013. During that time he also served as assistant football and baseball coach. Since 2010, he has been named All-Area Coach of the Year 1A-6A by Midland Reporter Telegram; All-West Texas 2A Coach of the Year by San Angelo Standard Times, District 7-2A Coach of the year for two straight seasons and was selected to coach in both the West Texas Basketball Coaches All Star Game and the FCA All Star Game. 

Richardson has earned a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, as well as completing his Superintendent course work. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in education from Sul Ross State University, a secondary business certification, all-level physical education, information processing, and secondary health certifications. 

“I am extremely honored and humbled for the opportunity to serve Forsan ISD. This place means so much to my family and me. I’m excited for the opportunity to continue the tradition of excellence that has been established by people I have come to know and respect over the years. There is no place I’d rather be and there is nothing I’d rather do than serve FHS,” Richardson said.
