Forsan Junior High recently sent 18 students to compete at the TMSCA (Texas Math and Science Coaches Association) state competition in San Antonio. Forsan earned 9th place overall as a team. The Science Team placed 4th overall.
Forsan team results are as follows:
Number Sense earned 10th Place (Luke Prichard, Atlee Jackson, Kohen Kemper, and Jake Prichard)
Calculator Skills was ranked in 13th Place (Farhlei Iang, Dre'Sean Anderson, Jaythen Martinez, Emilie Duforat)
Math received 8th Place (Luke Prichard, Haylea Elliot, Ian Williams, Jaythen Martinez)
Science--4th Place (received trophy) (Ian Williams, Haylea Elliot, Zadrian Ginkinger, Blake Godwin)
In addition to team placements, there were several of the students who placed in the top 20.
Individual Results for Forsan are as follows:
In the Number Sense competition two seventh graders placed: Luke Pritchard was ranked 12th and Atlee Jackson was ranked 18th.
In the Math competition, one 8th grader, Haylea Elliott placed 7th; two of the seventh graders were ranked in the top 20 - Luke Pritchard (14th) and Ian Williams (18th); two sixth graders also earned recognition - Kohen Kemper (15th) and Sammy Wanner (17th).
In the Science competition 8th Grader Haylea Elliott placed 9th; 7th Grader Ian Williams placed 4th and 7th Grader Gloria Anyona placed 20th; 6th grader D’Mauri Anderson earned 18th.
